Temporal Echoes

Star Wars Illustration

This personal exercise was meant to create a balanced composition, by using a definite color palette.

The two parts each have a specific palette, being more orange on the left side and more blue-ish on the right.

The piece showcases the fight between the good and the bad by emphasizing the brightness and saturation of colors, which on the left are more pronounced, and on the right are more dull.

Solitude Study

Article on Solitude

This illustration was made for an article about a father trying to accompany his child, who was born with a condition, through the difficult path of life.

The two subjects are sitting on a bench; the father is trying to establish a connection with the child, who seems distant and afraid of the world around him.

In the background there are human figures passing by, who are blurred, this being a representation of their negative view on the protagonist, who is different than all of them. But his differences are his uniqueness, which make him stand out from the crowd.

Liminal Boundaries

Future of Bakery

Since the article was about a pastry renaissance, the inspiration was Raffaello's School of Athens, rendered in the manner of a contemporary pastry school, where all the characters are pastry chefs performing a different action.

The central character is the protagonist of the article, who is showing the other secondary characters the new pastry renaissance of the future.

The past and the future are fused together in a single illustration that represents pastry in a broad way.

Book Cover

The first, and main book cover was designed in a way so that the crocodile (representing fear and danger) would be slightly more visible than the main background color of the cover: this to represent the fact that danger is not always visible, but is always present throughout a journey.

The second cover also focuses on the crocodile, this time melting and coming out of a wave, to symbolize the danger of the journey that is written about in the book.

The third and final cover, on the other hand, focuses on the journey itself of the protagonist, starting from a dangerous and dark place, and ending up in a safe and joyful country. The head of the protagonist is in the center, with a face expressing fear, but hope at the same time.
